Description
Stegosaurus, a fascinating dinosaur that roamed the Earth during the Late Jurassic period around 155 to 150 million years ago, was characterized by its distinctive row of large, upright plates along its back and two pairs of sharp, menacing spikes on its tail. While its incredible armor might have looked intimidating, it is believed that these plates functioned primarily for display or thermoregulation rather than defense. Additionally, the Stegosaurus had a relatively small brain, roughly the size of a dog’s, which led scientists to hypothesize that it may not have been the most intelligent dinosaur. Despite this, its unique appearance and interesting adaptations have made it one of the most recognized and beloved dinosaurs today.
